Diabetes affects millions of people around the world, and that number is growing. In the US, it has become an epidemic, with a growing number of people developing Type 2 diabetes. Even children as young as 2 have been diagnosed with the condition.

Type 1 diabetes is most likely caused by a virus that compromises the pancreas, rendering it unable to produce insulin, which is needed to help regulate blood sugar.

Type 2 diabetes is characterized by varying degrees of pancreas function and insulin production. The main issue is to try to keep glucose (blood sugar) levels under control in order to minimize the negative effects of diabetes on the heart, kidneys and eyes.

Part of glucose control involves making smart food choices. In this course, you will find a range of diets, or eating lifestyles, which can help people with diabetes maintain their health. You’re sure to find something that suits your tastes and will fit in with your daily life. Let’s meet the instructor, grab our downloads, and get started.
