Email Marketing Secrets

30EmailTipsIntermediatesOne of the most important things you can do online is lead generation.

It is heart-breaking to see how many companies are so fixated on traffic, so-called eyeballs, they fail to see that a business based on a nanosecond’s visit to your site is not going to create revenue.

Eyeballs don’t have wallets. People do.  So even if they do not actually buy something from you, you would like to be able to capture their attention long enough to offer them something for free in exchange for their email address.

Once you have their email address, you will have permission to market to them.

Now, the only problem with that is SPAM. So many marketers get an email address, and then abuse it.  That makes it tough for the rest of us legitimate and well-meaning business people who really do want to provide useful content and information on products and services.

So, make sure you require a double opt-in email system (such as one at Aweber). Make sure you do not overmail to your list, and offer value for money. Be very judicious about your subject headings, and never ever even consider giving your list or sharing it with anyone.

Above all, never buy a list! You will be shut down before you can even blink.

Finally, you might want to consider email deliverability assistance from various external services if you want to monitor everything more closely. After all, you could have the greatest email message in the world, but you will not get any customers if it does get delivered.

Email marketing is still one of the best ways to build a relationship with your target audience and gain customers. Don’t skimp on this essential task.
