How to Succeed as an Entrepreneur, Part 1

Discover one easy formula for success in your small business.

there are a number of memory aides that can help remind you of the formula for success.

Today we would like to look at this one: Persistence+Dedication=SUCCESS

To be a successful entrepreneur, you have to be honest about how persistent and dedicated you are willing to be. If you have your own business or if you are thinking about going into business for yourself, you must remember that there are no holidays, sick pay or vacation when you are first getting started. Entrepreneurs sometimes work 7 days a week 18 hours a day or more.

You might be prepared to make the sacrifice, but are your family? It’s tough to accomplish anything on your own in life. The more support and encouragement you have, the better.

What can help keep you on track during all the long hours you will be putting in? Here are a few suggestions.
Visionboard
1.Visualize your goals
Simple visualization can help you set your goals as you picture what your ideal future looks like. Take a few minutes each day to close your eyes and visualize where you’d like your business to be in a week, month, or year or two. Be realistic but also positive in your visualization.

Imagine what your great new business will mean to your life. See yourself as a successful entrepreneur achieving your goals. Picture what this will do for your family. This can keep you going through all the sacrifices that will have to be made to get set up properly.

2. Design a vision board
A vision board is your vision in a form you can look at any time. Many of us have difficulty imagining a situation so a vision board in your office or online can help. Use a simple pegboard and pictures of your ideal situation. Or go to Pinterest and start re-pinng images that really ‘speak’ to you.

Create different categories, such as business, personal and travel. Include your dream home, ideal car, perfect vacation spot, software you need to buy for your business, and more. Add motivational quotes, pictures of your family, and anything else that will help you stay on track and moving forward. Learn more here: How to Create and Use a Vision Board

3. One step at a time
When you walk in the dark you can only see at most two feet in front of you at anytime, but eventually you’ll end up at your destination. Just like walking in the dark, you don’t need to see much further ahead in your business. If you concentrate on the big picture too much, you may struggle and feel overwhelmed. Concentrate instead on small manageable goals that you can achieve one step at a time. Once you achieve a small goal, then go on to the next one, slowly, a few feet at a time, until you end up at your destination.

This are 3 useful steps for getting started. In the next section of this article, we will look at more hints and tips to keep you moving forward towards success.
