Welcome to the course. You are about to transform your body and health 20 seconds at a time with the help of Tabata-style workouts.
That’s right, only 20 seconds! Your body can only perform at its absolute best for a short time, and Tabata training takes account of this. ‘
Each timed workout interval takes only 20 seconds! Then you rest for 10. That is one round. This means in 4 minutes, you will complete a total of 8 rounds. Then you get to rest for 2 to 4 minutes, and start a new set of 8 rounds with a new exercise.
That’s right, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds of rest, 2 to 4 minutes of rest at the end of each round. It REALLY is that easy.
All you need is a stopwatch to help you. or, you can follow along with the video provided, to do the timings correctly without looking at your timer or clock too much.
You might wonder just how much of a workout you can get in only 4 minutes, but the truth is that studies have shown that 4 10 minute workout sessions can be just as effective as 40 minutes in 1 long session.
Tabata works under the same principles, giving your body short, sharp bursts of movement like an exercise sprint rather than endless repetitions. In this way you can work out any time, nearly anywhere, depending on what exercises you choose.
Best of all, work at your own pace. Start with 1 round of 20 and work your way up. Or do 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, of various moves, or a whole body workout and gradually work your way up to the full 8 rounds per exercise. It is up to YOU.
