COVID-19 Related Depression and Anxiety: How to Maintain Your Mental Health
COVID-19 literally transformed our world almost overnight. Who could ever imagine on New Year’s Day 2020 that a pandemic would sweep the globe and leave countless millions sick, or even dead?
Schools and businesses closing, fortunate people making the sometimes tricky transition to working from home, or losing their jobs, was just the start of it. It was even a struggle to get basic supplies like toilet paper.
Those fortunate enough to be able to work from home who had children had to deal with the issue of homeschooling/keep the kids busy all day, with very few options to go out due to lockdown.
Our favorite restaurants, bars, and gyms all shut down, or had extremely reduced capacity. Gathering with friends and family, especially older ones who were at more risk of COVID-19, suddenly became too dangerous.
Now in May 2021, we do have vaccinations, but there is still no end in sight of getting anywhere back to normal, and it has taken it’s toll on many people’s mental health.
Depression and anxiety are not unusual in times of extreme change or struggle, but the pandemic has caused so many people to suffer all at the same time, and make it difficult for them to seek professional help if they need it.
Fortunately, there’s a lot that can be done to help with these two health issues once you know how.
In this guide, you will learn what depression and anxiety are, and coping strategies that can help you start feeling more positive and less worried, for a better quality of life no matter what the pandemic throws your way.
