This study guide is designed to lead you through the novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, taking you through each chapter and highlighting important questions which need to be answered if readers are to have a full grasp of the text.
Teachers will find the guide useful for in class or at home work. Students will find the guide useful as a way to come to grips with the text. There are both short answer-type questions and more involved short essay questions. Many of the questions can also be used for discussion.
The longer essay questions are designed to develop the student’s skills in comparing and contrasting and referring to specific parts of the text to support their assertions.
The next section of the guide contains samples essay questions, with outlines. They can be used as a general guide, or to structure your own essays for class. Teachers will find them useful as questions to set for their students for both class and home work and for examination preparation as well.
