PPC: Pay Per Click, and how to market on the search engines 1 SEO Guide Part 2- What is SEO? Search engine marketing and promotion companies, will look at the plan for your site and make recommendations to increase your search engine ranking and website traffic. If you wish, they will also provide ongoing consultation and reporting to monitor your website. They will make recommendations for editing and improvements to keep your site traffic flow and your search engine ranking high. Normally, in a large company, the search engine optimization experts would work with the web designer to build an integrated plan right away so that all aspects of design and SEO are considered at the same time. If you have to do it yourself, it may seem like a lot of work to start with, but it will pay off if you are prepared to be patient. An SEO firm can certainly help you, but no one knows your products better than you do. Therefore, no one can market your products and perform SEO in quite the same way. It is just a case of learning a few simple rules and tricks, and taking action. So why is SEO so important? Because it can bring your website huge quantities of FREE traffic. It is the search engines that finally bring your website to the notice of the prospective customers. When a topic is typed for search, nearly instantly, the search engine will sift through the billions of pages it has indexed, and present the ones that match the topic most closely. The searched matches are also ranked, so that the most relevant ones come first, according to the criteria of the search engine (their algorithms, which we will be talking about later).

PPC marketing or pay per click marketing is the most popular method of advertisement employed by various search engines and websites on the Internet.

PPC marketing may often be referred to as search engine marketing, pay for position, cost per click or pay for performance.

But regardless of the term used, PPC marketing is the online advertiser’s medium of choice for promoting products and services to online consumers.

Why is PPC so popular?

PPC marketing is beneficial to both the advertiser and the consumer.

Advertisers using PPC marketing only need to pay for the actual click throughs linked to their sites from search engines. At the same time, consumers don’t have to constantly be subjects to annoying emails or pop-up ads for products and services they are not the least bit interested in

This is known as interruption marketing-it is stopping you in your quest, in order to shove an ad in your face.

With PPC ads, they are ALREADY LOOKING for something related to your product, via keywords, and your ads are shown at the same time as the organic search engine results being delivered up as most relevant of all the pages in the internet.

If you then make a point of capturing information about your website visitor though a simple newsletter or free report sign up using the targeted keyword, you are engaging in permission based marketing.

The visitors to your site who have come through organic search and pay per click search form a highly targeted consumer group that is more likely to purchase a specific product or service.
