Desserts on the Go 2

Our next dessert involves fruit and a grill. Again, this is perfect for summer parties. Have you ever tried grilled fruit? It has a unique flavor that goes well with sorbet, ice cream, or alone.

Create your own grilled fruit kabobs and heat them on the grill. Add them to the sweet treat of your choice or, if you’re in a hurry, eat them alone on the go.

Puddings can be eaten on the go too. Make the pudding at home using cold skim milk and chill for at least five minutes to let it set. Scoop the pudding into disposable dessert cups. Reused yogurt tubs work really well for this.

Want to avoid using a spoon? Try a frozen half of banana. Kids will love scooping up pudding with a banana and taking an occasional bite. When you are done, throw the cups away for a quick and easy clean up.

For a more inventive touch to your pudding snack, use an orange as your cup. Cut off the top and scoop out the flesh and the seeds. You can also use a juicer to strain out the seeds and use the juice for your dessert as well. Fill the orange with pieces of pound cake and cover with a glaze made from juice and confectioner’s sugar.

Or, make a bread pudding and glaze it with orange juice. Either way, the orange dessert cups will be a hit.
